DESCRIPTION: The Academic Foundations Center’s Talent Search Program East assists students from under-served backgrounds who have the potential to succeed in higher education. The program provides a wealth of resources to help students graduate from high school and go on to college. The program provides academic enrichment and hands-on experiences, such as college tours and workshops to build understanding in the college admissions process and how to be successful academically during the 10-month academic year. The program serves 500, 6th-12th grade students, in the East Orange School District from the following target schools; East Orange Campus High, East Orange STEM Academy, John L. Costley Middle School, Patrick F. Healy Middle School, and Sojourner Truth Middle School.
Population Served: High School, College Graduates, Teachers, Professors, Business Professionals, Business Agencies, Artists, Social Workers, Families/Parents, Community-based Groups, Government Agencies, Citizen Groups, Voters, First Generation, Unprivileged Classes, Disabled, Out of School Use
