DESCRIPTION: The Rutgers University-Newark Chorus was founded by noted musicologist Alfred Mann in 1947 and is currently directed by Dr. Brian Harlow. It brings together students from Rutgers, NJIT, and Essex County College, as well as alumni, staff, faculty, and community members around a shared love of singing. During the thirty-five year tenure of John Floreen the Chorus embarked on a number of international tours, receiving enthusiastic receptions from audiences and critics in Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, France, England, Scotland, Italy, Spain and Wales. The Rutgers Chorus has also produced five CD recordings. The Chorus gives several performances each semester on and off campus, all of which are open to the public.
