DESCRIPTION: The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (CUEED) is dedicated to transforming urban economies by providing programs aimed at increasing the level of ethical entrepreneurial activity. CUEED offers several programs including the Entrepreneurship Pioneers Initiative (EPI) which provides first-generation entrepreneurs who have established businesses with training, business and financial counseling, and networking opportunities.The Newark Business Hub provides services to creative entrepreneurs including access to equipment and meeting space. The Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship Workshop teaches entrepreneurs how to start an online shop for their unique line of handcrafted items to gain a wider market. And of note, the Black and Latino Tech Initiative will engage high-growth, high-value tech start-ups with tools such as Lean Startup Machine, Summer Entrepreneurship Boot Camp and on-going mentorship by Rutgers faculty.
